David Crumbine
Executive Learning Coach
Helping high-potential students develop the habits, mindset, and academic skills to thrive — in school and beyond.

For nearly two decades, David Crumbine served as the founding fifth-grade teacher and culture architect at KIPP Academy in Houston, one of the nation’s most acclaimed college-prep public charter schools. Known for his ability to inspire excellence in even the most reluctant learners, David led the transition year that set the tone for every student’s academic journey. As the creator of the legendary “KIPPnotizing” experience and ongoing Life Class, he helped over 2,000 students — many of whom arrived several grade levels behind — become active, motivated, and successful learners.

A two-time national Kinder Excellence in Teaching Award winner and featured educator in American Teacher: Heroes in the Classroom, David brings unmatched experience, empathy, and depth to his work. He was among the first educators in the KIPP network to integrate blended learning technology into the classroom and served as both vice principal and grade-level chair during his 18-year tenure.

Today, David partners exclusively with a small number of families each year, offering bespoke academic coaching for children of executives. His work goes far beyond tutoring. With a focus on executive function, learning habits, and intellectual confidence, David helps students not only excel academically but also build the internal skills that lead to long-term success.

Families who work with David value depth, partnership, and consistency. Most commit to multi-year engagements and see him as an integral part of their child’s development — and their family’s educational support system.
